Competing at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Koivun finished at 25‑under par 259, setting a new tournament scoring record and outlasting world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler in front of packed galleries and hot summer conditions.

Koivun seized control of the tournament during Saturday’s blistering third round, where he posted a 10‑under 61 that included a historic 28 on the back nine. He returned Sunday with a poised, bogey‑free 66 to secure the three‑shot win and a champion’s check of $1.58 million from the event’s $8.8 million purse.

Scheffler, who entered the week as the top‑ranked player in the world, mounted a fierce charge during the final round. Fans at TPC Twin Cities were also treated to a rare moment of PGA Tour history on Friday when Michael Kim fired a 12‑under 59, becoming just the fifteenth player ever to break 60 in competition. Kim’s round stood as one of the defining highlights of the week and helped propel him to a top‑10 finish.

For Koivun, the victory marks a rapid ascent from collegiate standout to PGA Tour winner. After helping Auburn capture a national championship earlier this year, he turned professional last month and has wasted no time proving he belongs on golf’s biggest stage. His win in Blaine moves him to No. 70 in the FedEx Cup standings, placing him inside the cutoff for the playoffs, which begin in two weeks.
