Ready to be part of a sharp, fast-paced comedy that’s as thought-provoking as it is hilarious? The Thanksgiving Play, by award-winning Indigenous playwright Larissa FastHorse (Sicangu Lakota), is a satirical look at well-meaning attempts to celebrate Native American Heritage Month in a public school. This play is smart, relevant, and a great opportunity to dig into big questions about representation, privilege, and the stories we tell.

Audition Dates and Times:

Friday, September 19, 6–9 p.m.
Saturday, September 20, 12–3 p.m.

Location: Whitney Fine Arts Theater, 1424 Yale Pl, Minneapolis, MN 55403

Casting Note:
All roles in The Thanksgiving Play are written as white-presenting characters, as specified by the playwright. Actors of any background who can convincingly portray these characters in their mid-20s to 30s are encouraged to audition.

Audition Details:
Auditions will consist of reading sides from the script, which will be provided at the audition. Full perusal scripts are also available in advance by contacting: jonathan.beller@metrostate.edu.

Actors are asked to arrive at the start of the audition session and may be asked to stay throughout. It’s best if you can attend both dates, but not required.

Rehearsals will begin at the beginning of October. The show will run November 14–22. College credit is available for participation, both on and off stage.

All experience levels welcome. Come ready to jump in, take risks, and have a good time with this smart, relevant comedy. We hope you’ll join us!
