MN AG Keith Ellison Sues Trump to Stop ICE

By: Minka Koskinen, Managing Editor

On January 12th Minnesota’s Attorney General Keith Ellison held a press conference where he announced that he will be suing the Trump Administration in an effort to stop ICE from terrorizing Minnesota residents stating ICE’s presence is “dangerous, illegal, and unconstitutional”.

This lawsuit further shows the efforts of Minnesota government to protect those in the state and to put safe guards up against the onslaught of ICE and federal overreach.

During the press conference Ellison highlighted the impacts ICE’s presence has had on the community and services stating many businesses, schools, and daycares have shuttered their doors over safety concerns for themselves and their fellow Minnesotans.

The White House as usual responded with their unprofessional and crude manner (which unfortunately is now expected) stating that the lawsuit is  “pathetic stunt, only proves that Democrats will put illegal criminals over hardworking Americans every time.”

With Trump just announcing his Minnesota Immigration crackdown this past December and we are only half-way through January with a Minnesota woman already killed by ICE, it leaves many to wonder what the impact of this lawsuit will be.
