Almost 7 million Americans were estimated to be out Saturday, participating in “No Kings Day” rallies. No Kings Day, (called No Dictators and No Tyrants internationally), according to organizers, is a protest against authoritarianism, specifically President Donald Trump and what people feel are his authoritarian policies and practices throughout his administration.

At Commons Park in Minneapolis, thousands of Minnesotans showed up to the protests, chanting and holding signs, stating they love America and are fighting to maintain democracy.

Many showed up in inflatable animal costumes and carried homemade signs. According to many reports, the demonstration had people out from across party lines, Democrats and Republicans alike have both been reported to partake in the demonstration.

Donald Trump’s approval ratings hit their new lowest last week. In seeming response to the protests, Trump posted AI-generated photos of himself wearing a crown and AI-generated videos of him, one where he has a crown with Democrats bowing down to him while boasting the words “hail to the king.”

The White House posted a photo of Trump and Vance in crowns yesterday as well.
