The Speedway on 7th street, in downtown St. Paul, was the site of several shooting incidents between May 28th and May 29th . This violence, that took place less than a mile from the St. Paul campus, was related to the social unrest after the Minneapolis police killed George Floyd on Monday May 25th.

Midway Target remained under police control on Friday May 29th, after looters briefly took control of the store on Thursday morning.
