Studies have shown that most resumes are discarded after only a 10-second review. How can your resume get a longer look? An aesthetically pleasing and professional template is the key.

Organizing your employment history and writing a resume are the first steps. But giving your resume style and professionalism takes some additional effort. Here are a few resources to create simple, clean and professional resumes that will appeal to potential employers:

Metro State’s Career Center

The Career Center provides a downloadable, comprehensive resource packet on writing resumes. It has an in-depth guide for formatting your resume with detailed instructions on each section, and five resume samples that you can replicate. Download the packet and schedule a one-on-one resume review at Metro State’s career center webpage.
