Meet a student group: TC3

What Is TC3?

In the summer of 2005, after realizing that the community of Technical Communication students at Metropolitan State was expanding quickly a group of students decided to form a group called TC3 (Twin Cities, Technical Communication, Technical Community). TC3 is open to all current Metropolitan State students and alumni.

TC3’s goal is to “serve as a learning and networking community to promote the exchange of ideas among technical communication professionals and Metropolitan State Technical Communication students.”

The group is currently chaired by a leadership team of five students, both undergraduate and graduate. The faculty advisor is Victoria Sadler, a professor and advisor in the Technical Communication program.

What Does TC3 Do?

TC3 has many events over the course of the fall and spring semesters. For the 2006-07 school year, they sponsored a fall kick-off event and In-Design and Dreamweaver workshops.

For the 2007-08 school year, they will be having their fall kick-off event on September 27, 2007 from 6-8pm. All students are welcome to attend.

They also plan on holding In-Design workshops, Dreamweaver workshops and a Photoshop workshop throughout the school year. The dates will be announced on their website.

Is TC3 Connected to STC (Society for Technical Communication)?

Metropolitan State University also hosts a student chapter of STC. And, all Twin Cities STC members are welcome to attend any of the TC3 events. Priority is given to current students for enrollment in the workshops, but any of the kick-off, career, or networking events are open to all STC members.

The fall kick-off will be held in the Founder’s Hall reception area on September 27, 2007 from 6-8pm. All students are welcome to attend. For more information about TC3 or their events please visit their website: http://tc3.metrostate.edu.
