Looking for the Psychology Department?
-- Dara Trooien Leitner
The Psychology Department has moved. Not far, however, just to the Midway Campus. The move took place during the week of Aug.14 and was a joint agreement between administration and members of the Psychology Department.
Faculty members of the Psychology Department all wanted to be in the same location and administration needed more office space on the St. Paul Campus, according to Deborah Bushway, professor and chair of the Psychology Department.
Bushway likes the new location and feels being located in one area makes it easier to communicate with colleagues.
As does Glen Spielmans, a new assistant professor in the department, who said "I’m pleased with my office and I certainly like the free and abundant parking."
Bushway hopes that the move to the Midway Campus gives students another place on campus to gather, as well as provide a sense of belonging to students majoring in psychology.
The Psychology Lab, located on the St. Paul Campus; New Main; Room L202, where students can get help writing papers in APA style and conduct research experiments, did not move to the Midway Campus.
