Letter from the editor

Dear readers,

New things continue to take place at The Metropolitan. I am pleased to announce that we now have a new production manager. Her name is Carin Mangimeli and she is a welcome addition to The Metropolitan staff. If you have her in a class or see her in the halls, please join me in congratulating her on her new position.

This month, we are introducing two new columns. One is called “A Woman’s Place.” It will feature topics to help encourage, empower and inspire women to lead authentic lives. No topic is off-limits, so if there is something that you would like to see covered; feel free to email drobacje@go.metrostate.edu for consideration

I think it is crucial to be fair and get differing points of view, so if anyone is interested in covering topics that encourage, empower and inspire men to lead rich, authentic lives, please email me at Christina.thury@metrostate.edu so we can start something.

The other column debuting in this issue is called “Twin Town Sound.” This column will feature musicians from the Twin Cities and/or concerts happening around town. Please let us know if you hear of a musical event or if you know of a musician or group that you think should be covered. You can send the information to Christina.thury@metrostate.edu for consideration.

And finally, we’re featuring a spread on all of the student organizations in this issue. I encourage you to take a look at it and see if any groups pique your interest. Participating in extra curricular events enriches your education—and they’re a lot of fun! My experience working on The Metropolitan has been very rewarding. I have learned (and continue to learn) so much and I have met so many (and continue to meet) creative, wonderful people. It has definitely enhanced my education at Metropolitan State University.

As always, I want to hear what you think about the changes we’re making. If you have any suggestions for improvement, or if there is something that you would like to see in the paper, feel free to email me at Christina.thury@metrostate.edu at any time.

Sincerely,

Christina Thury
Editor
