Metropolitan State University announces Peace Corps baccalaureate degree

The U.S. Constitution was signed on Sept. 17, 1787. Even now, 219 years later, it remains the oldest and shortest constitution in the world. To build credibility and develop The Metropolitan student newspaper to a university-level publication, the nearly all-new editorial team decided at their Sept. 14 staff meeting to publish primarily university-related news articles and event announcements. According to The Metropolitan’s new editor, Carin Mangimeli, a public relations and professional writing double-major, this move is intended to better represent the Metropolitan State University community...

This vote matters: Minnesota Secretary of State

Local and state-wide elections matter—especially for offices like Minnesota's secretary of state, a constitutional officer who administrates voting. The secretary of state balances four main job functions: Recording and filing official state documents, registering and filing business information, maintaining Uniform Commercial Code records and officiating elections...

The World In Film - Deepa Mehta's Water: Affects of traditional customs on women and girls in India

Imagine you are 8 years old again. Perhaps you're learning to count or to ride your bike. Maybe you’re not even allowed to cross the street. Chuyia, on the other hand, the 8-year-old girl depicted in the film Water, is a widow. She can only count to 10, has been forced to live in an ashram (spiritual institution) and can’t even remember getting married...

Sporting the Twin Cities - Ode to the Twins

By the time most of you have read this article, it will be antiquated in sports time. The figures and stats will be close to a month old, and games will have happened that I know nothing about.
