Guidelines for Submission:

The Metropolitan is seeking submissions that cover campus issues and
events and that are of interest to Metropolitan State University
students, faculty and staff.

We are primarily interested in campus-focused news articles and feature
stories such as profiles, interviews and reviews. Commentary and letters
to the editor are also welcome. We occasionally accept creative writing,
poetry and photography for our literary and creative arts page, The
Montage.

Articles should be 350-900 words and Montage pieces should be no longer
than 600 words.  With the exception of Montage pieces, all submissions
should follow AP format.

The Metropolitan pays the following stipends on publication:

  • $30 for articles
  • $10 for photographs to accompany articles
  • $10 for comics or editorial cartoons
The Metropolitan does not pay for letters to the editor or submissions
to the Montage.

To be eligible for payment, contributors must be Metropolitan State
University students and be officially enrolled at the time of
publication.

Inquiries and requests for full guidelines may be sent to:
themetropolitan@metrostate.edu

The Metropolitan does not accept unsolicited submissions.
