Metropolitan State appoints nursing faculty
M. Patricia “Pat” Donohue, Golden Valley, was appointed professor, College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Metropolitan State University, by President Wilson G. Bradshaw. This fixed-term appointment was effective July 1.
Donahue will serve as interim director of baccalaureate programs. She will provide leadership for the Metro Alliance baccalaureate nursing programs. In consultation with the alliance’s two-year nursing programs directors, she will work in concert with and provide leadership to the faculty to determine, integrate and implement curriculum for the programs.
She comes to Metropolitan State from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, where she was professor and executive associate dean for the College of Nursing. She has taught there since 1976. Previously she taught for the Riverside Methodist Hospital of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio, and for The Ohio State University School of Nursing, also of Columbus.
Donahue holds a nursing diploma from St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing, Cleveland, Ohio; a B.S.N. and M.S. in nursing from The Ohio State University School of Nursing; and a Ph.D. in social foundations of education from the University of Iowa.
